Conny Wagner

About the artist

Conny Wagner was born in 1969 in Sursee. After working as an architectural draftsman for 20 years, she continued her education at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. From 2008 she began to present her works of art in group and solo exhibitions, in addition to public spaces.

Although Wagner was raised up apolitically, the artist is interested in society, politics, culture and economics. Her paintings deal not only with questions of democracy, human rights, freedom and environmental issues, but also with cultural exchange, tourism and business. With her art, she creats bridges, and connects in that way worlds with different cultures.

Wagner's installations always contain a metaphor for a specific topic. The works are all philosophical and based on symbolism. Accordingly, the artist develops her own character, which is rooted in various forms of nature and society of our blue planet.
