Janus Alphonso
About the artist
Janus Alphonso focuses on realistic cranes and bridges as his major motifs in cityscapes. He shows industry representations in harmony with nature. His cranes do not intervene in nature, nor do they destroy the scenic beauty. On the contrary, the artist is not only directed to an idealized world, but concretely shows the industry-evoked changes in the relationship between man and nature in the 21st century. It´s really unbelievable how delicate and gracile, how light these gigantic cranes and container-bridges are shown on his pictures. You do not see the hard work, do not smell the dirt, and do not hear the noise. Instead Alphonso discovers the aesthetic charm of the industrial facilities when he puts them in relation to the natural celestial phenomena, to the arising sun, the changing light of the sky or the setting colours of the twilight.
