Patrizia Casagranda

About the artist

Patrizia Casagranda’s works are expressive symbiosis of collage, painting and graffiti. In her series of portraits "Principesse" the German-Italian artist focuses on the theme of princess and creates charming representations between nostalgic beauty and current street art. To create this particular style, the artist refers specifically to the rusting process in the creation of her works. In an era of increasingly digital art Casagranda works on tangible materiality. Layer by layer, she reveals the viewer weathered metal, cracked and yellowed paper and structures, reminiscent of crumbling plaster. She also proves to be reflecting on the fast moving media world with its seemingly daily changing advertising campaigns and beauty ideals.

In 2002 Patrizia Casagranda completed her design studies at the FH Niederrhein with honors and attended Painting Academies in Nice, Ravensburg and Trier.

After changing activities in design area since 2015 she has worked as a freelance artist. The central cities for her work are Germany, the Netherlands and India.
